Sustainable Agriculture
On September 9, 2020 a training on “Sustainable agriculture” and “Cultivation of high-value crops and berries” within the frames of RED-NEO program, was organized for 6 beneficiaries from Gosh and Aghavnavank settlements of Dilijan community. The training was conducted at Green Training Center by the president of Green Lane NGO Nune Sarukhanyan and Ashkhen Sargsyan, sustainable agriculture consultant.
The participants were interested in a number of non-traditional, non-traditional high-value crops, their cultivation, collection, storage and processing technology. Some of them think that cultivating of high-value crops will not only provide an alternative income, but also contribute to the diversity of food and health of their family members, and in the case of mass cultivation, it can be a source of sustainable income.
The participants were provided with information booklets, materials, books related to the technologies of cultivation, collection, drying and storage of high-value crops, effective management of natural resources, the author of which was the trainer. Moreover, the participants were also provided with seedlings and technical assistance on how to start experimental cultivation of these seedlings.
