"The Perspectives of Pig Breeding Development in Armenia" Conference
On June 6 of this year, an international conference titled "The Perspectives of Pig Breeding Development in Armenia" took place, organized by the "Center for Agribusiness and Rural Development" (CARD) Foundation and the National Association of Veterinarians. The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, local and international experts, farmers, and journalists.
The speakers of the event were experts from Austrian "Schauer", Dutch "Topigs", "VDL Agrotech", Georgian "Nutrimax", and Armenian "Smartagro" companies. The representatives of the RA Ministry of Economy participated in the event and gave a speech of welcome.
During the seminar, issues related to pig feeding, improvement of genetics and pedigree work, behavior, and application of new technologies in Armenia were discussed.
The interested parties, including the representatives of state departments, expressed their willingness to address the government with proposals that will be of turning point in the effective development of pig breeding in RA.
During the discussions with the international experts, the Armenian experts understood how the process of pig identification and registration is carried out abroad. The initiation of this program in the Republic of Armenia is as important as the already implemented cattle animal identification and registration project.
The conference was special and unique in the field of pig breeding development, the results of which will be presented to state institutions in order to implement further actions and continuity.
