New Farm and Veterinary Service Center in Chambarak Community
The RA Ministry of Agriculture jointly with the Agricultural Project Implementation Unit (APIU) state agency and the Center for Agribusiness and Rural Development (CARD) Foundation organized the official opening ceremony of the Chambarak Farm and Veterinary Service Center (FVSC) in the Gegharkunik province on November 28th.
The RA President Serzh Sargsyan, the RA Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan, the Governor of Gegharkunik Raffik Grigoryan, Community head of Chambarak Yurik Avalyan, as well as APIU and CARD representatives and community farmers attended the launch event.
This is the 3rd such Center established by the RA Ministry of Agriculture in the framework of the Community Agricultural Resources Management and Competitiveness (CARMAC) project funded by the World Bank. 2 more Centers have been established in Artashavan community of Aragatsotn marz and Khndzoresk community of Syunik marz.
It is planned to establish FVSCs in 5 more provinces such as Shirak, Tavush, Lori, Vayots Dzor and Kotayk. Taking into account CARD’s profound experience in the field, according to the RA Government decree, the aforementioned Centers will be managed by CARD Foundation.
As the other 10 Centers, this one will also offer a wide range of services to farmers, as such: veterinary services, disease prevention and treatment, artificial insemination services, sales of veterinary medicines, farm equipment and input supplies, consultation and workshops, as well as will link the farmers to veterinary and farm supplies market.
